2017 Worlds short program
Evgenia Tarasova is superhuman. #WorldFigure #helsinki2017

Just hours before they were to take the ice for their short program at Worlds, Evgenia Tarasova took a fall during practice on footwork and Vladimir Morozov cut her right below her left knee with his blade. Tarasova ended up getting 10 stitches with the injury, and it was questionable whether or not she would even be able to compete that day.
But compete she did. And they delivered a clean short program that put them in third and ended up helping them win the bronze medal in Helsinki. Yet another example of what incredible dedication we get from figure skaters. Tarasova was absolutely superhuman.
Grit and heroics aside, this short program has been a career highlight for the normally reserved pair. They have always been known for their huge explosive tricks, but this short program was the first time we have seen them perform to the crowd and project to the audience.
This program is the perfect vehicle for Tarasova/Morozov as skaters and performers - if they can channel this again in the Olympic season, they could really be a gold medal threat.
