15. Ashley Wagner USA
2017 World Team Trophy short program
I mean, it took five competitions for this short program to finally be skated to its full potential. But oh boy, when Ashley Wagner put it all together, this was one of the most well-rounded short programs of the season.
Earlier in the season, the program was a bit empty in content. At Worlds, Wagner was tentative and didn't come close to skating it full out. But finally, it was at World Team Trophy where she just let the performance take over. It was a great way for her to close out an otherwise less-than-stellar season, just a year removed from having won the World silver medal in 2016.
This performance may have come late ... and after her most important competition of the season. But she can look back at it and say that she was able to press the reset button - just in time, of course, for the Olympic season.
